It's difficult to find a good spot in/near Demre: either you are in town, or on the coast (few possibilities) or there are many limestone quarries in the hinterland. Here you find some spots along the Demre river which was totally dry and easy to cross when I was here, even with a normal 2wd van in some places (hard pressed gravel/sand). There are many quarry trucks, probably 24/7, but it's ok for a night and it's a peaceful area, nobody around.
