My tip: Visit the salt mines at Ait Hani ... Either as a day trip from Ait Hani on foot and back about 20 km. Simply follow the paths through the small fields to the neighboring village. Partially inhabited and also abandoned old traditional clay buildings along the way. In the main village then along the two small irrigation channels / in the dry river bed through the valley, then slightly to the right up the side valley is one of the mines in which mining is still taking place. A guide is not needed! Or drive to the neighboring town, leave the vehicle and walk to the mine for 30 - 45 minutes. With primitive hoes, the near-surface salt is mined to a depth of up to 50 m without proper support and ladders, then brought to the village by mule and then sold nationwide by truck. We are here for the second time after the overnight stay in February 2019 and had a pleasantly quiet night. Safe and easy parking with the approval of the gendarmerie (is also right in front of the gendarmerie). Large free, minimally sloping gravel area in the village of Ait Hani. In the village itself there are about 5 - 6 tea rooms / cafes and just as many small shops, once a week there is souk (I forgot the day). Height approx. 2030 m, but not so cold and protected from the wind. Sun in the morning ... Ideal to spend the night to continue towards Imichil or Rich / Goulmima after visiting the Todhra Gorge and fortunately not yet developed as far as the neighboring towns.
