(LL68 9HD) Amlwch - Upper Quay Street

This appears to be an older car park perhaps for the Amlwch Windmill which is in disrepair. The entrance has gate on split level but they look like they haven’t been used in a very long time so there is no height restriction but I suppose one day that might reuse them. The area is a mix of gravel and rocky surface and there are many level spots but also some tight turns and inclines if you are after a sea view. There are several paths from the site both down to the village, around the headland and down to the pier. Just watch out for these when parking right to hedges so you don’t end up blocking a path, they are marked with signs and concrete blocks. The area is super quiet with just occasional dog walkers and joggers passing through. It is fairly exposed but there are a few thickets grown up so you can find some shelter, although if it’s a windy forecast the car park behind the fishing docks on the opposite side of the port would be a better bet, but worse views :p. There are no bins or other facilities here so it would only be an option for self contained and please leave no trace. If you need facilities the parking in the town centre by the pub has bins and toilets so would be a better place to park. Google maps does not work to navigate here, as it thinks a track called Craig Y Don is a road and it is not (or isn’t anymore) so instead you need to turn up towards the sports ground at the junction of Parys Road and Machine Street and take the right after the houses, the turn in is just after you come to a gate for the water treatment plant. There is a water treatment plant behind the site, although I didn’t notice this when staying, but I suppose weather dependant it could be an issue, but if so I guess just park up in the other car parks.
