The turnoff from the tarmac onto the gravel road opposite the Snowport shop has a ~15cm drop in places. The best place to avoid grounding your car on the drop is to drive parallel to the tarmac seam across both carriageways near the STOP sign. There are in fact a least 2 parking places. Approx 450m from the tarmac (Google Maps distance) there is a vacant beehive box on the right, and an area of flattened grass. This spot has shade till 1000 in Aug/Sept. 30m further on there’s another flat spot on the right at the dirt track turn off. Beware the broken off sign post pole just after the tree. This spot has shade after 1000 in Aug/Sept. It’s about a 50min walk from here to the Corycian cave, in the shade of pine trees along the gravel road (see Google maps). Hiking trails are around. Install the Anavasi phone app and purchase the digital map for Parnassos (~€5).
