The official BC Recreation Lost Lake parking lot is divided into two sections. The upper parking lot has space for approximately 10 vehicles and includes an outhouse and trash receptacles. A steep ramp leads to the lower section of the facility, where there is space for approximately 5 vehicles directly on the lake. The steep ramp is only suitable for vans or small campers; front-wheel drive vehicles may have difficulty. It is completely quiet at night, as the Needles/Fauquier ferry is not in operation. Overnight camping is permitted; no signs prohibit it. You can pan for gold in the nearby Kettle River; there are additional parking spaces, even for large vehicles, on the other side of Highway 6.
