The parking lot next to the tiny forest chapel "decke Tönnes "offers a good starting point for hikes and bike tours. It is possible to spend the night there too. The civilization of Bad Münstereigel is around 6 km away. Closer is the large Effelsberg radio telescope - as a possible excursion destination. The Steinbachtalsperre is also a great destination for a bike tour. A circular route to the parking lot at "Bleiesnück" near Mahlberg, which is also suitable for overnight stays, takes around an hour. The parking lot atdeck Tönnes is good for a nice day and an overnight stay. The car park is frequented by other day trippers when the weather is good and on weekends.
