(SN8 3RX) between Burbage and Everleigh, Wilts - byway

Beautiful hilltop spot on a very quiet off-road track near the A338 highway. Wide landscape views in all directions. Good hard track surface, all-weather access if approaching from A338. Park on the side of the field-gate - DO NOT BLOCK the track or the gate. Farm vehicles use the track occasionally in daylight hours. All-weather entrance is from the layby on the A338 at 51.328235, -1.679056 Adventurous vehicles can drive all the way south along the track to Everleigh (needs a 4WD in winter, any vehicle in summer). Cautious drivers will turn around and exit the same way they entered, returning to the A338. The track is normally very quiet (except the one or two days per year when they collect the harvest). Legally, the track is a 'byway open to all traffic' - this means it is not a maintained road but anyone may drive on it.
