Maybe in the Yorkshire Dales or the Forest of Bowland… or on the Pennine Way… and not forgetting other top spots like Pendle Hill and Gisburn Forest… If you reckon that sounds like a pretty enticing collection of places to explore, the place to stay is Shay Gate Farm, just outside Laneshawbridge on the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire. This well-placed spot is about half an hour’s drive from the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Forest of Bowland, five minutes from the Pennine Way and within easy reach of several other excellent walking/biking areas. Getting in, out and all around should be pretty easy too – Colne is about two and a half miles away, and the M65 about four miles.
