The military at the checkpoint are very nice. They didn't let us go to the dam but they invited us to eat. They told us we could sleep there on the esplanade. the views are formidable and few cars pass along the road. They speak a little farsi and some words in English. They have a water outlet that I would use for cooking but not for drinking. They invited us without asking a few closed plastic water glasses. The typical restaurants. there are a couple of friendly dogs and some scary cows. Talk to them with a smile and ask to sleep there. there is 4g
