Domaine Essarj

The place is amazing. It is very well located on a hill, with a great view. You can access it by car ( it is a bumpy road but you can make it with any type of car) or by foot. You can camp in your tent or campervan. It is very clean and you have everything you need ( from toilet and shower to a barbecue place) The host are very nice, they speak English and French and they try to do all their best to make your stay a perfect one. They offer also dinner and breakfast . All the food is delicious and what is the most important thing is that the food is home made. If you also want to try very good traditional sweets just tell them because they also own the best patisserie in Siliana. Here you can taste the real Tunisian food and to see a very nice Tunisian family. You can camp here for a few days because you have a lot of things to do. Also, the hosts can advise you on what to see , what to do and he can come with you if you want to see the surroundings ( please tell him before in order to know how to plan his program) Below I will let a few ideas on what you can do as you are camped at Domaine Essarj there are 2 caves: - one small near the camping ( small but very interesting) - another one at about 1 hour ( depends on how quickly do you walk). This is an amazing one but you need to be prepared for some physical effort. We have visited both of them with the owner of the camping . He can offer guided tours but I advise to make the arrangements before going there in order to organize his program. - the city of Siliana is not far and you can visit it ( another must to if you want to see a normal Tunisian small city) - olive oil factory ( i have visited a small one where i saw the entire process of making oil, the best virgin oil in Tunisia is in this area) I stayed at Domaine Essarj for 3 nights and I am sure that i will come again if in the future I will visit again Tunisia. Domaine Essarj It is a must see location if you want to see the real life in Tunisia! And not to forget a very important thing!!!! They are pet friendly..so you can go there with your furry friends. The owners also helped us with the rest of our tour in Tunisia. They put us in contact with one of their friends from South in order to give us advises and to help us visit the other nice places in Tunis. Totally recommend this location if you want to have a real Tunisian experience!
