Our location is conveniently situated just off the A76, which means there's no need to navigate side roads or country lanes in poor weather conditions. Newbridge Country Park, is a modern, family owned holiday park and campsite that handily suits both purposes, being half an hours drive from the M74 (for journey to the Highlands or south to the Lakes) and about the same distance from beaches and historic castles. Set in several acres of countryside, the site has spectacular views over the hills of Galloway Forest Park (half an hours drive), where you can soon be out exploring on foot or by bike. Anglers can cast their rods in the river on site for trout, or cast for brown trout at Alderneuk Fishery or fly fish for salmon (in season) on the River Nith (both 15 minutes away), and there are a couple of golf courses within 15 minutes drive too. Expect a warm welcome to all types of tourer vehicles, including camper vans, motor homes (including large motorhomes), caravans, tents, trailer tents, and roof tents, on our hard standing level pitches, or grass pitches for tents, with EHU Facilities on the site includes 3 free unlimited showers, one with a wet room for people with mobility issues, a laundry room with a washing machine & tumble drier at a small cost, washing up facilities, an elsan point, grey water disposal points - one for motorhomes next to reception, free games room with comfy seating area, free Wi-Fi, 16amp EHU, and no extra charge for awnings. £35 per night with EHU, £30 a night without EHU for 2 adults, and 1 dog. Extra adult £5. Extra dog £2. The site has secure coded gates that are locked in the evening and open again approx. 8am, but you can gain entry or exit after that time with a gate code. The games room offers complimentary access to a pool table, a football table, and comfortable seating. Enjoy the large off-lead enclosed dog walking area with mowed pathway around the field, with some of the walk alongside a beautiful river, with a couple of benches to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery. The town of Dumfries, just a 10-minute drive away, with major supermarkets and retail parks within a 5-minute drive, is perfect for purchasing groceries or any other essentials you might require. There is a petrol station 10mins walk away, that sells basic essentials. Next door, inside the pet shop, there is a dog friendly café, Paws and Go, serving delicious food from 9am to 4pm mon - Fri, sat 9am - 3pm and from 10am sun to 2pm. In Newbridge, there is The Woodlands Hotel, that is a 10 minute walk away from the campsite. They have a restaurant and a bar. If you`re having a break from the stove, take your pick of cosy pubs, cafe's, and restaurants serving local Scottish produce and lots of other choices of food to accommodate everyone while you`re there. There is a bus stop right outside the site that offers a direct route into the centre of Dumfries. Nearby Attractions Dalscone farm fun, is home to the world famous, loneliest sheep Fiona. With an indoor soft play area and a fun-filled farm park, they are Dumfries` top local destination! Dumfries was the home of Robbie Burns in 1791. See displays on the life of Scotlands' favourite poet, as well as portraits and period rooms, at the Robert Burns House. Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens (20 minutes drive away) makes a great day out, with its art collection, woodland walks, and adventure playground. For more Scottish heritage, stop by the moated remains of medieval Caerlaverock Castle (25 minutes drive away). For enthusiasts of authentic Scottish malt whisky, a tour of the Annandale Distillery in Annan is a must. During your visit to the distillery, don't miss the opportunity to sample the delicious offerings at their café, including a doogie menu. Located just a 30-minute drive away, the world-renowned Gretna Green Chapel offers photo opportunities and a variety of shops featuring a wide array of Scottish products and gifts. Just a five-minute drive from Gretna Green Chapel lies the Gretna Green Shopping Outlet Village, boasting over 50 retail and food outlets, including designer stores and cafes, perfect for those who enjoy shopping and finding great deals.
