Large tarmac car park (Bayfield Park Playground) close to a body of water in Anderson Bay. No contradictory signage for day and night parking. I spent the night there without any problems and it was quiet. Quite a few walkers with their dogs. Toilets nearby, at the sports field. Note that the toilets are closed at night (in February, they were closed around 8 p.m.). Also a playground. This is not in the center but remains a practical base for visiting Dunedin
