(BC V0A 1L0) East Kootenay - Bugaboo Creek Forest Service Road

This is mainly the parking for people that are going hiking to Bugaboo glacier, Conrad Kain Hut, etc Before going there, my question of the month was : can I drive there with my camper van? I mostly got discouraging answers and some were vague. I was much more encouraged at the Radium Hot Springs Visitor Centre. The truth is : except maybe if it has been heavily raining, etc. You do not need a 4 x 4. I made it up with my front wheel drive that weighs more than 3 tons. It is however, definitely a bumpy road. This is definitely true at some point at the beginning of the road trip. And the last 3 km to the parking are the most challenging. It is narrow, bumpy, etc.. But, as I said, I made it up with my more than 3 tons front wheel drive. In total, there were a handful of such vans at that parking. The parking was very crowded on the day that I arrived. I luckily found a good spot. I noted that some cars were parked on the road side before the parking… So probably better to get there early. But some parkings do free up later in the day when some people depart. Do not go with a long and wide vehicle. Mine is 6.4 m long and that is probably the limit. Finally, there is the “Porcupine animal with spikes”. The tourist office has not given importance to this. But when I arrived at the parking, almost all the vehicles had decided to protect themselves from the porcupine. I on the spot found things to do it with…
