Playa de Xagó is a large site right on a long natural beach. The access is quite steep, but even 7m high campervans can access it. It's a surf spot with many foreign and Spanish surfers. The beach is directly accessible via the dune adjacent to the parking lot. Restrooms are open from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The shower is freely accessible 24 hours a day, but there is an outdoor shower with cold water. Several large trash cans are available and are emptied weekly. Water can only be drawn from the sink using a water diverter or an adapter for non-threaded taps. You can also unscrew a small strainer from the tap and then screw it directly onto the tap with an M22 external thread to a GEKA/Gardena adapter, for example. You can drive your campervan right up to the restroom block (a 2m hose is sufficient for water). Often very full on weekends from midday onwards and there are lots of people camping here in the evenings too, even in June. During the week, except between 5 and 8 p.m., it's fairly sparsely populated or almost empty. Lots of Germans and Swiss people. A bar serving simple food and drinks is a 5-minute walk away. So far, no police action or complaints from city employees or service staff. There is some rubbish here and there, but it's still within limits and the beach is mostly clean. With a water filter and enough provisions, you can stay here for a long time :) Lots of dogs, some of which run around freely to play for you or to be petted. There are no signs anywhere on the site or on the beach prohibiting dogs, parking or staying there. During the day, the beach is monitored by lifeguards, and a flag indicates the danger level of the current and waves. Police have come once in nine days so far, at 11 a.m., but they did nothing and immediately moved on.
