A plateau at the top of a mountain with views of the monastery, the valley, and part of Mardin. We climbed up a dirt track that starts a little below the monastery parking lot (it's not very visible on Google satellite, but it's clear from the parking lot). You can also climb up from the other side of the mountain. I imagine you can climb up the mountain next door as well, and the views are better, but it was busier (people taking photos), so we decided to stay on this one, which was much quieter.
