Large gravel hiking car park. Night parking ban in winter (snowplough), apparently allowed in summer (police and warden said nothing). On summer weekends toilet closed and around 09:00 a car park attendant comes and levels the space and charges. Absolutely lonely and quiet at night; on the thoroughfare there is little traffic and at the "far ends" you can hear it rather quietly. On summer weekends, some people want to watch the sunrise/sunset from the top of the snow, hence cars/motorcycles moving, doors slamming, small groups talking from about 5:30am to 11:30pm. Good starting point for hikes around the Schneekopf.
