Campsite Curral do Negro is pearl situated In Natural Parc Serra da Estrela. It has very spacious and rustic camper, tent and caravan pitches quietly located on the top of the mountain (alt. 975 m.) including new glamping facilities. It has a stunning sunset and a view on the valley and it’s village Gouveia. (Which is only 3 kilometers (30 min walk) away from the campsite) The owners Leonel & Liliana are a very hospitable and enthusiastic Portuguese couple. They give you a warm welcome and make sure you have a great stay here at the camp. They even can prepare you a very good Bacalhau on a wood fired BBQ. If you want them to cook for you then ask them in advance. There is also a fresh bread service for the morning. In the campsite bar you can order drinks and some snacks and make use of the WiFi. Excellent sanitary facilities and hot showers. BBQ facilities, shade places. It has a swimming pool of natural water, with water from the mountain. Directly from this campsite you can make beautiful hikes of several distances. Highly recommended! Here people speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. IMPORTANT NOTE! It’s very easy to get to the the campsite via a tarmac road, BUT Google maps will sent you by default on a narrow road. Therefor follow this instruction.
