(700 14) Gouves - Unnamed Road

Small semi-flat area on gravel ground at the junction of the road. Suitable for a couple of motorhomes at most. There's also a couple of additional parking places up to the left on the hill, next to the two small churches, gravel and semi-flat as well. Possible with motorhomes <= 7 meters long. There's a water tap next to one of the churches but it wasn't working when we were there. No other facilities, but it's really calm and quiet. There was literally only three cars passing us during the 1 day and 2 nights while we were there. The view is certainly not the best in Crete, but far from being ugly or boring. There's a sacred cave nearby below one of the churches. It's free to visit and there's a fireplace which you can use. Make sure not to cross the town of Gouves directly, because there's a part which is only passable if you are under 2.5 tons. But there's a lot of roads in very good conditions to the east of the town which run parallel and ends up at the same crossroads before Skotino. If you use Copilot GPS, it will lead you like I described above. The concrete roads leading to the spot are all in very good condition and only the last couple of meters are of gravel. Reception is great.
