Beautiful, quiet, and secure campsite on a private horse farm in 53940 Hellenthal / Unterschömbach 7, in the Eifel region, on the edge of the Eifel National Park. Ideal for hiking and cycling tours, including beautiful, signposted mountain bike trails in the nearby forests and the national park. A baker's van visits the campsite on Saturday mornings, and an ice cream van comes several times a week during the summer. There are many beautiful old castles in the area. Other attractions include the Hellenthal Wildlife Park and Reservoir, as well as Steinfeld Abbey and a great outdoor go-kart track. On clear days, you can enjoy wonderful stargazing here because there is no light pollution. The deer rut begins in September, which is very impressive to hear and sometimes even see. ...
