Gruvbacken has an open unpaved parking lot, surrounded by nature, next to Lake Svärdsjön in the village of Svärdsjö/Borgärdet. There are many services in the village. A supermarket within walking distance in the center. WARNING! Areas may be wet during periods of heavy rain and when snow melts. It is strongly recommended to check BEFORE going down if the weather is humid. Please use common sense! Walk north on the Svärdsjöstigen Path (the Svärdsjö Path) along the lake. At 400 m there is a small sandy beach. Continue along the lake or through the cemetery to Svärdsjö Church (1 km). Follow the lake or the road to a small old forest (2 km). At the end of the forest (2.5 km) there is a large beach with a long, small sandy patch 200 m into the lake. On the way back you can cross the road in front of the church and walk the unpaved road through the village of Kyrkbyn. You have to walk about 2.5 km to reach the parking lot. You will pass Arvid Backlund's sculpture house about 1.5 km from the asphalt road.
