(NN12 7XU) - Northampton Road

A508 Lay-by - A long lay-by that pulls away nicely from the main road to keep it much quieter than normal. In summer there is often a greasy spoon van parked all day. It’s not too far away from the Grand Union canal where you can get on, just to the north of the entry where the A508 crosses over the Grand Union Canal, and head off for a ride/walk alongside the canal to either of the 2 Navigation Pubs. One is a mile to the north in the beautiful village of Stoke Bruerne if you’re not feeling too energetic or the other Navigation pub is 6 miles to the south in the village of Cosgrove. Both of them well worth a visit. A lovely walk or ride.
