Karlstadt airfield is located in the middle of the Grainberg-Kalbenstein and Saupurzel nature reserve. The pitches are therefore right on the edge of the dry area, which is characterized by a special variety of plants. The dry climate is also popular with campers who want to enjoy the many hours of sunshine throughout the year. Due to its location at the foot of the Saupurzel, the site is particularly inviting for hikes with a wide view over the city of Karlstadt and the Main Valley. You can be in the city in a few minutes by bike. The way back is a bit more demanding due to the location on the mountain, but doable. Currently, the parking space can only be reached with smaller campers, as the access through the chain is not particularly wide and the maneuvering area is limited. Up to 6.40 m it is usually not a problem.
