Uneven grassed/gravel parking area at Lonehort Battery Site. Right at the end of a quiet, narrow, quite often muddy, pot holey rough road. Tours of the Fort need to be pre organised as it's locked. I've included a photo of the contact details for this. Sadly I missed out but it's still a nice walk around the perimeter with lush views and benches. From the locals I spoke to, they had no issue with me parking here. This island only has tight, narrow roads/lanes with very few passing places, so if your driving/reversing skills are not great, perhaps just either cross as a foot passenger or leave motorhome at islands ferry port. Ferry's run all year, and it was €20 return for my campervan. 03/24. Bingo is on every Friday night at the bar in the middle of the island, followed by park run sat morning at 9:30am, starting at the GAA sports ground where the public toilets are located, which are open 24/7. Cafe in village opens sat morning for park run runners.
