Please do not stand in the alpine meadows. These meadows are mown, and crushed grass with ruts is extremely annoying for any farmer. This is exactly how we make ourselves unpopular as campers! "My favorite spot in the media area. HUGE open lawn that's the floor of all the ski slopes and children's trails. Plenty of parking, with or without shade. A huge bonus is the FREE chairlift down to Mestia town and the new gondola to the top of the Zuruldi ridge (20 lari up, free return), from where many hikes and mountain bike trails start. Great place for kids if you have them. Incredibly quiet at night, lots of stars. Horses and cows, but unfortunately no dogs. (Okay if you don't like it?) In my opinion, the best place to base your visit to Mestia."
