Picnic area along the road between Queenstown and Te Anau. Presence of a wooden table. Overnight parking is not contraindicated and I spent a night there without any worries. The area is on the side of the road and there is traffic but in the region, the free camping options are very limited so this can always help out. No facilities except the table.
