Parking lot above the paid parking lot at the campsite. This one is free, fairly level and has space for camper vans in the evening. During the day the place was quite full with hikers, but we still found a spot with a 6.40m. At around 8pm the place was almost empty. It is right on a road with little traffic at night. However, a truck or tractor thunders past here every now and then. During the day it is worth taking a trip around the Laacher See (former volcano) with the rising CO2 gases (mofettes). My cell phone reception (o2) was more bad than good.
