(247101) Obârşia Lotrului -

It's a fairly remote and rugged spot, surrounded by a mountain stream. The terrain is mostly flat and slightly hilly, but it can be reached by road vehicle and possibly by campervan. At first, the road may seem quite bumpy, but with slowness and perseverance, it's manageable. Halfway through, there's a sharp bend to the right that may seem difficult, but once over it, the road is mostly flat and easy to navigate (2x4 vehicles are allowed). The site is located in a clearing on the left, on the other side of the stream; paths lead there, and you have to cross the river (the water is about 10-20 cm deep). It's recommended to cross when the water level is low (not raining, so check the weather in advance), as there is only one entrance to the site. There are three or four campfires and plenty of firewood nearby; there's no mobile phone service. The stream water isn't drinkable, but it's otherwise quite clean (there should be some drinking water springs nearby on the way to the spot). Overall, the place is welcoming, free of light pollution, and boasts a spectacular night sky. It's one of the most relaxing places to park. There's also a lot of wildlife, so be sure to bring protection (e.g., bear spray, just in case). There's also a hiking trail that passes through, leading to Lake Gâlcescu and then to Parângul Mare Peak (marked with a red cross).
