(53780) Ortayayla - Verçenik Yolu

Nice valley in the Kaçkar Mountains away from all busy places on the northside. The last 14km is off-road and little bumpy but never steep, no hairpinbends and very scenic. After you passed all crazy busy and touristic parts of the road at Zilkale you can start to enjoy the road. At the village of Ortayayla take left when coming from Ardeșen side for about 8km. There are some fences you can open. We parked just in front of the shepperd settlement where the road is just some wider to park a car to avoid the animal noise night. But at the end of the road at the settlement there is a small parkinglot which is not flat. We walked to the Kapili lakes down the Verçenik Daği 3771m. Nice hike with the last part steeper sections lakes are very nice, there are a lot of trekkers and tents in the high season, probably on a multiday hike in the Kaçkar mountains because we didn't see anything but cows on the way up. When you come here, it is to go hiking, the place on itself in the valley is nice but nothing to relax or enjoy as you are along the road (but quiet day and night). The parkinglot in the village is even less enjoyable as you are less or more in the middle of a farm.
