Pounawea Motor Camp the catlins camp

We are a well established camp centrally located in the Catlins, if you are looking for a piece of nature rarely experienced anywhere else in New Zealand, look no further! We have lots of camping area available, including powered sites, throughout the camp, some of which overlook the estuary. There is good drinking water, toilet facilities, laundry with commercial washing machines and dryer, kitchen with gas & electric cooking, microwave ovens, and all of the other camp facilities are available to you. To make your stay with us even more exciting we hire out kayaks, there are nearby walking trails and an amazing park for the kids! For the fisherman there are opportunities to hook a nice sea trout, or perhaps play a round of golf at the course just down the road. Bird life flourishes in the motor camp and the surrounding estuary - the native Tui and Bellbird sing a melodious chorus which is quite unique in itself! We are also situated right next to a gorgeous beach with lots of native wildlife for you to look out for whilst you walk on the sand.
