Porthcothan Clifftop Camping

Porthcothan Clifftop Camping is a back to basics campsite on a working farmer’s field with water taps and a composting toilet only when we visited. Although more recent visitors reported hot shower too. When we visited there were no option to empty wastewater or chemical toilets but the stunning coastal sea view makes up for the lack of these facilities. …and actually this is why we liked it as it is basic and non commercialised. Porthcothan Bay is a mile away via a footpath; Padstow is 15 minutes' drive from the site. The campsite is located right next to the coastal path and stunning sandy beaches are easily reached by walking along the coastal path either direction. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. When arriving with a campervan or small motorhome, look out for a small sign on the road and enter onto a field track, which eventually ends up on the campsite after about 300 meters (driving through about 3 fields) before you get to the campsite field with the coastal view.
