Zomerrust

An inspiring place from Dutchbat lll veteran Rob Zomer. He likes to welcome former Dutchbat soldiers, other veterans and all other interested people. Rob talks very openly and honestly about the time he was sent to Bosnia as a soldier. We even got a tour of him through Srebrenica, where he shows various places with lots of history. Beforehand, he showed us photos from the period, these photos really came to life during the tour. The Memorial Museum is within walking distance. He is also renovating this amazing place on his own, providing tasty meals. You can choose to sleep in a dorm or in your own car. Don't be put off by the steep road leading up to it; well worth it. Rob himself has indicated that longer cars can have trouble with a certain hill on the way back he pulls into action with his 4x4 car. We crossed this hill without assistance (no 4x4). Before driving here it is necessary to contact this wonderful host as he regularly receives veterans. This way you know for sure if he has time and space for you.
