day parking only Public parking lot just below the beautiful Rattendorfer Alm. Starting point for hikes with a great mountain panorama. Also known as a theater of war between Austria and Italy in the First World War. Some building remains and trenches are still visible today. The mountain ridge forms the border with Italy. The 30-minute drive along the forest road with an average gradient of 14% is only suitable for cars and off-road vehicles, not for mobile homes. The great mountain panorama is worth the effort for the relatively long, bumpy but otherwise quite passable drive. The Rattendorferhütte (5 minutes' walk from the parking lot) offers local food and its own cheese dairy. There are toilets at the hut. As always, please keep the mountains clean and dispose of your rubbish down in the valley.
