Along the Dordogne River, access should be checked according to the season; beware of flooding after rain. It's quiet, and Pessac is a pretty village with a guinguette across the street from May to September and a great restaurant, Le Pessaquais. The bridge is overhead, so there's some traffic noise, but it's a nice way to avoid it, and you can swim on the beaches on the banks opposite; it's magnificent.
