The Köckern Ost motorway rest area has a special parking space for campers and cars with trailers (just follow the signs), which is not directly next to the motorway behind a hedge. It is also cleverly built in such a way that trucks cannot drive there, but longer motorhomes can. This means that it is quiet at night and there are no running truck engines or driving noises early in the morning. The rest area with McDonalds including McCafe is open from 7 a.m. to midnight, and there is also a petrol station. A pleasant place to pass through with a little more charm than classic motorway rest areas.
