Spot had all the hallmarks of a poor night's sleep, but, the funfair was dead by 1900 ( it was a Monday night in September) the pub at the top of the car park was quiet, and the road, being elevated and having a brick wall along it was surprisingly OK. Slope not too bad at all at far end. There's a public toilet a 5min walk away in the park, under the road, past the kiddies play park ( take your own toilet paper!) with hot water. Town is lively, people nice, excellent pub ( Black Star) 10mins away. Great real ale selection. Canal and river walks too.
