I spent a night there because my childhood home was nearby and the Beacon overlooked it. I was very happy to see that the view has not changed since my last visit here in 1984. This is where the dog walkers park during the day, so the activity starts around 8:30 a.m. but no one pays attention to you. It was very quiet throughout the night, apart from one driver who honked his horn at 9:30pm. There is a litter bin on the side of the road, use it. This parking is on a slope, but if you drive along the part that is a small circuit you can be perfectly level. I wouldn't try to park anything larger than a transit van here. There was a small amount of youth litter (nos canisters and balloons) that we cleared up. Overall it is a good stop for the night. Don't come here without going up to the observation point to enjoy a 360° panoramic view.
