The Secret Garden

Welcome to La Villeneuve! On top of one of the hills in the middle of the nature of southern Burgundy, surrounded by wooded areas, fields and other hills, about 45 minutes away from the A6 (Autoroute du Solail) in Chalon-Sur-Saône you will find our pitch. It is open all year round. In the orchard of a former winery (8000 m²) with mansion, outbuildings, garden and park are 4 pitches, separated by the fruit trees. Each individual setting offers a lot of free space. The entire property is surrounded by a wall. Motorcycle tourists, families with children, hikers and bikers, young people, everybody is welcome here. Various benches, table groups and other resting places, especially in the park, invite you to linger. Enjoy the beautiful view and meet our numerous free-roaming animals. Whether it's pets such as dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks and a donkey, wild small animals and birds or our only neighbors, the Charolais Cattle, each one will curiously examine you. Over here you can expect a lot of nature, peace and relaxation and if you like, direct contact to the people of the country. For Motorhomes we have electrical connections. The supply of drinking water is also guaranteed. In the area of an annex there is a toilet, a shower, a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen with cooking plates, microwave, water boiler, coffee maker, large refrigerator and freezer, dishes, pots, cutlery etc. An unloading point for dirty water is located about 10 minutes away and is easy to reach. Upon request, we can provide you with breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cake or packed lunches. There are many hiking trails, cycle paths, markets and festivals in this area. Activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking, boat trips, covered waggon rides, carting, etc. are also possible. Not far away are amusement parks, a zoo, a thermal bath, castles, archaeological sites (eg Bibracte), places of pilgrimage (Paray-Le-Monial, Cluny), museums, cultural institutions, restaurants, shops, etc. Excursions to Lyon (about 1 ¾ hours), Guédelon Castle (about 2 ¼ hours), Lake Geneva (about 2 ½ hours), Vezelay (about 2 hours) or the Burgundian wine region (about 1 hour) are also possible. You can even reach Paris within 4 hours. If you wish we can be your personal tour guide for some of the sights.
