Schildfeld is located in the southwest of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim. It is about 17 km from Wittenburg via the A24 and about 17 km from Zarrentin to Schaalsee. Vellahn and the B5, where you'll find various shops, a swimming pool, and a gas station, are 7 km away. Schildfeld is a small village nestled between the forester's lodge and the Schild Mill. As soon as you enter the village, you leave it behind. With just a few houses and a similarly small population, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania holds a hidden gem. The small GDR Museum is also located here. Besides the very old and well-preserved Schildmühle watermill, which underwent nearly eight years of restoration, Schildfeld boasts a unique facility. The forest lodge offers a park, surrounding woods, and an idyllic barbecue area protected by grates. You'll also find excellent products from our forests there. Wild products, wines, and spices are available directly from the Forsthof farm shop. An annual Christmas market also offers grilled sausages and mulled wine. You can even choose and take home your own Christmas tree. It's also a wonderful area for fishing and recreation. The nearest bakery is just a 1,000-meter walk away. Our campsites are located in a meadow, nestled between two forests, just a short walk from each other. The forest is separated only by the oldest oak avenue in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a paradise for photographers who appreciate nature and tranquility. It's not uncommon to spot a herd of deer from the grounds in the evening. In August/September, you can hear the impressive bellowing of the stags during the rutting season – an unforgettable experience. You might also see buzzards, kites, and other species, as well as foxes, owls, and various bird species. We are happy to share this beautiful space with you. Upon request, we also offer tents and a caravan, as well as electricity, for cyclists. A solar shower is available in summer for an additional fee. The entrance is immediately on the right, after the town sign when coming from Boizenburg, behind Bennin. Please do not take the road with the dead-end sign; it's the wrong way. The route is also signposted to the Waldhaus. There is no turning back! Entrance: Alte Eichenallee 1a - 2. We must be present to open the gate. Please call us in advance.
