Whitianga… Any lads or lasses who are yet to hear of this trendy town on the Coromandel Peninsula are in for a treat at Mercury Bay Holiday Park. The tidy family-friendly holiday park is a short walk from the centre of Whitianga and 15 minutes’ walk from the start of its sandy beaches. There are often farmers’ markets on the weekends, splendid surf breaks across Mercury Bay and of course, watersports and boating trips of all sorts any day of the week. A trio of larger urban areas are within two and half hour’s drive of Mercury Bay Holiday Park, including Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. However, the central location on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula means that beaches with geothermal hot waters, local sea caves and crazy coral reefs are a short drive away - that’s a huge highlight here.
