Public River Beach

Partially wooded meadow by the river, equipped as a sports area and bathroom. There are also wc and bins. The ground is somewhat irregular due to locals looking for earthworms for fishing. On the google map can be find as “Public beach Poloji” where people go swimming and to chill. A bit crowded mid june - mid august especially during the summer seasons with local having bbqs, but super quite at night. Due to the spot beaing literally on the border between Croatia and Bosnia (non EU), police have a checkpoint 200m further down and they often drive on this route but do not bother campers. Local villagers are happy to see campers and nomads coming to the city since it’s not the much of international hotspot for tourists usually. Mid July there’s free punk festival with hundreds of people coming and camping under the trees so if that’s your coup of tea, look it up on google. Water from showers is drinkable since its the same that people in the city drinks at home and at cafes. BBQ is allowed when it’s not too hot (40 C). There’s soccer and volleyball playground. Also shades between trees althrough huge storm passed by in july 2023 and destroyed the place a little bit. In town you have everything you need for a few days stay (gas station, grocery shops, bakery, cafes, restaurants, etc.). Have in mind to switch off data roaming from non EU cellular plans due to being on the border because it can switch to Bosnian telecoms easily and charge a lot.
