Loch Laird Campgrounds

This is the closest campsite to Benmore Dam. Camp underneath the willows. You can water ski in the lake, or go for walks over Benmore Dam and to the lookout. There is a safe cycle route into the town of Otematata. Registration to be paid upon arrival, either in the honesty box at the entrance, or to the camp warden. There is a boat ramp for accessing the lake. No open fires are permitted, and dogs must be kept on lead at all times. The Waitaki Lakes camping season opens from the third Saturday of September until the Monday of Queen's Birthday Weekend.
